On this day, October 20, The Báb or "The Gate" was born in Shíráz, Iran, who claimed to be the Promised One from God or the Qá'im. He was a descendant from the lineage of Muhammad, the Prophet of Islám, and during his youth showed signs of power of greatness, who one day would bring a new age of prosperity to mankind.
